Florida Adventures

Florida . . . Beautiful Beaches, Diverse Culture, & Great Food! Being Born and Raised in Florida Before Relocating to Georgia I Could Brag About The Amazing State All Day. No Matter Which Area You Visit You’re Bound To Find A Local Restaurant That Has Some Amazing Food. While Exploring The Panhandle One Summer Evening, My & My Best Friend Came Across This Wonderful Restaurant Located in Ft.Walton Beach, Fl. Called Buffalo Wings & Rings ( 402 Mary Ester Cut Off Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548) It Was An Accidental Find but im Glad We Came Across it Because They Had Some of THE BEST Wings!

Starting With An Appetizer, We Decided To Get Something Simple. While Browsing the Menu I Seen Something That Said ” Potato Pile On”, Described As Full Sized Bacon & Cheese Stuffed Tater Tots Served Over Chipotle Ranch. To Me it Almost Sounded Like Loaded Tater Tots, Something Simple Right ? Boy Was I Wrong! When the Plate Arrived to the Table, I Was Shocked to See These Little Potato Balls Topped w/ Jalapenos On Top of Chipotle Ranch & A Side of Sliced Avocado. It Was Plated So Nicely I Almost Didnt Want To Eat Them. I Kept Thinking ” Wow This is Fancy For A Wing Place”. All of the Flavors & Textures Came Together Nicely. The Outside of The Tot Was Nice & Crispy While the inside Was Bursting w/ Flavor From The Bacon and Cheese. The Creaminess From The Ranch &Avocado Gave it A Nice Smooth Texture &The Jalapenos Gave it A Finishing Kick. I Would Definitely Order This Again & Recommend it To Anyone Browsing the Area.

Now When it Comes To Wings, im Pretty Simple . . . Give Me The Hottest Ones You Got with A Side of Ranch lol. This Time I Told Myself I Was Going To Stop Being Basic & Try Something Different. They Offered A Variety of Different Flavor Combinations but the One That Stuck Out to Me Was the Peach Habenero Wings. I Underestimated The Power of The Sauce Because Boy Were They SPICY, the Hint of Peach Gave it A Balance of Sweetness. Talk About Sweet Heat! All & All I Would Give This Whole Experience a 10/10!

Grandmas Old Fashion Goulash

Being From The South, We Have Alot of Unique and Flavorful Dishes. One off My Favorites That My Grandma Used To Make Was Called “Goulash” . It Basically Was A End of The Week Meal Where She Would Use Leftovers & Throw Everything into One Big Pot & Add Pasta. Now That ive Moved Out On My Own, I Find Myself Experimenting With Her Recipes & Trying To Critique Them into My Own Custom Dish. I Started Rummaging Thru My Fridge Looking For Whatever Vegetables I Could Throw in the Pot. For Almost All My Dishes, I Start With A Green Onion & Bell Pepper. As I Dug Some More I Came Across Some Leftover Spinach, Yellow Squash, and Ground Turkey Meat. Perfect to Start With!

Here is A Full List Of ingredients :

  • 1 Yellow Onion
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper
  • 1/2 Bag of Fresh Spinach
  • 1/2 Bag Frozen Sliced Squash
  • 1 Box Elbow Macaroni
  • 1 Can of Diced Tomato
  • 1 Can Tomato Sauce
  • 1 Can Tomato Paste
  • 1 Pound Ground Turkey
  • 1/2 Stick of Better Or Spoonful of Olive Oil
  • Your Preferred Seasoning
  • 1-2 Spoonfuls of Sugar

Cooking Instructions :

Before Cooking, I Like To Start Off By Sanitizing & Cleaning Off My Kitchen Surfaces w/ Hot Water & Clorox, and Then I Chop Up My Onions & Bell Peppers. I Dont Always Dice Them, Sometimes I Like To Leave Them A Little Chunky to Keep it Hearty. In A Skillet, I Add Some Butter or Olive Oil and Begin to Saute’ My Veggies. As My Onion & Bell Peppers Get Soft I Start To Mix My Spinach. Everybodys Taste Buds Are Different So I Dont Usually the List Seasonings That I Use But I Do include Them in My Recipe; That Way When You Make it You Can Customize it To Whatever Works For Your Palette. Also, in The South We Really Use Measuring Utensils, We Just Say ” A Sprinkle of This and a Dash of That”. To Season My Vegetables I Used A Sprinkle of Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning & Garlic Powder. While The Veggies Were Cooking, I Dumped My Tomato Sauce, Diced Tomatoes, & Tomato Paste in A Large Pot and Mixed All My ingredients. To Cut The Acidity I Added About 1 or 2 Spoonfuls of Sugar as Well as Season Salt Then Mixed Well. Once My Veggies Are Soft Enough, I Add Them to My Sauce Mix and Begin to Scramble My Meat Which is Also Seasoned With Tony Chacheres , A Little Onion Powder & A Tad Bit of Garlic Salt. After The Meat Gets Nice and Brown I Add it To The Sauce Mix and Let in Cook For Awhile On Medium with the Lid on So The Flavor Can Cook & Blend Together Stirring Occasionally. After About 10-15 Mins Add A Cup or 2 Of Water & Add Your Elbow Pasta to Cook Until Al Dente. Once Everything is Nice & Cooked All The Way its Time to Serve! I Like To Pile Mine Up in A Bowl then Sprinkle Some Shredded Cheddar Cheese on Top, Because Cheese Makes Everything Better Right?

I Hope You Enjoyed The Recipe Ive Shared :). Feel Free to Leave Likes, Comments & Feedback!

Sullivan’s Steakhouse Review

Hey Guys What’s Up ! I Wasn’t Sure What To Post for My First Blog So i Figured Why Not Do A Food Review .

While Visiting the Beautiful City Of Baton Rouge, Louisiana Me and An Old My Friend of Mine Decided We Wanted to Dress Up Nice & Go to A Fancy Restaurant. Ruth’s Chris Was Our First Choice but The Filled Up Quick So We Looked Around in the Area and Came Across a Place Called Sullivan’s Steakhouse ( 5252 Corporate Blvd Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70808). When Walking in the Place Was Beautiful! Nice Dim Light Setting, Calm Atmosphere & A Nice Crowd. We Looked at the Menu and Decided to Get An Appetizer. We Went With the Crispy Shanghai Calamari, Definitely A Great Choice! The Flavor Was AMAZING ! The Calamari Was Fried To Perfection and Had a Nice Crunch To it, The Sauce Was Sweet Yet Tangy but Spicy At the Same Time. It Wasn’t Overpowering and Had The Perfectttttt Amount Of Sauce. I’d Definitely Rate it a 10/10

Everybody Knows The Best Way To Eat a Steak is With a Nice Salad. Personally Cesar is My Favorite So I Went Ahead & Stuck With What I Know and Boy Did I Make the Right Decision! First Of All, This Was One of The Fanciest Salads I Ever Seen lol. The Cruton is What Got Me, it Was Super Thin and Crispy. You Can Definitely Tell it Was Made From a Fresh Bread Loaf. I’ve Never Seen A Salad Plated Like This, The Presentation Was Definitely Different Than What ive Experienced and Your Regular Chain Steakhouses. They Key to A Great Salad is The Toppings So I Didn’t Hesitate to Have Fresh Shaved Parmesan & Cracked Black Pepper On Top. The Only Thing I Didn’t Care For Was the Fact They Used the Whole Lettuce Leaf. I’m A Lazy Eater Who Likes To Get Right To the Eating So Cutting Every Piece Was A Bit Tedious to Me. Overall, I’d Give it a 8/10 on the Salad

Now The Main Dish! What’s the Point of Going to A Steakhouse if You’re Not Getting a Steak! I Went With The 16 Oz Ribeye Cooked Well Done, Grilled Asparagus, & Garlic Horseradish Mashed Potatoes. Everything Arrived Hot and Fresh Which Was A Plus. My First impression Of Everything Was ” Wow, They Definitely Give You a Nice Portion Of Sides.” Me and My Friend Ended Up Sharing lol. The Asparagus Was Grilled Nicely & Seasoned Just Right and Boy Were They HUGE! The Mashed Potatoes Were Pretty Good But Could Use A Bit More Butter. They Where Definitely Nice and Creamy with The Perfect Amount Of Garlic. My Steak Was Perfectly Cooked & They Had A Signature Sullivan’s Steak Sauce That Complimented it Very Well. It Was Nice & Vinegary w/ A Peppery Bite to it.

My Experience At Sullivan’s Steakhouse Was Definitely A Nice One. From the Atmosphere to the Great Food it Was Generally A Very Nice Restaurant and I’d Definitely Go Again if im Ever in the Baton Rouge Area Again.
